About Axis

The benefits of gymnastics are many, including general fitness, strength, balance, coordination and flexibility as well as character development through hard work, discipline, commitment and growth in self-confidence.  As succinctly stated by USA Gymnastics’ tagline, participants in gymnastics “start here (and) go anywhere.”

With a well-equipped facility and experienced, certified staff members to motivate participants, Axis offers an array of programs — preschool to young adults, recreational to elite — to encompass diverse commitment and interest levels.  Our goal is to provide safe and fun programs that help participants reach their full potential in sports and in life through physical,  social and character development.

Axis Gymnastics is a member gym of USA Gymnastics.  All staff are safety certified and required to complete ongoing professional development to ensure that we remain current on industry best practices and provide a professional, safe AND fun environment for learning and recreation.

Organized in 2011, Axis is a locally owned, small business.  In 2015, Jessyka Larson, a former coach with both Axis and Jackson Gymnastics, assumed management and ownership of Axis.  With fourteen years of experience as a coach and judge, Jessyka has worked with gymnasts at all levels, in gyms both large and small, including Air-Bound  and Tytan’s in Utah and Hills in Maryland.  She is a Level 4-10 judge and has previously been a camp program director (Camp Vega, ME), a K-8 physical education instructor (Thomas Edison Charter School, UT) and owner of Top Flight Tumbling Academy (UT).  She holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Utah State and is currently a doctoral candidate and graduate teaching assistant in Sports Pedagogy at the University of Utah.  Jessyka is excited to be returning to Jackson and is eager to transition from graduate school back to her first love, a career in the gym.
